Hi

I am just new in Php program..... i just seen the framework design from phpbb which is using smarty......


it looks really cool to...because i can change my design patern anytime i want.


now my question which one is better for php framework???

zend framework? php.MVC?? or smarty???

i want to start with one of those.....

I wouldn't use such a big template engine as Smarty. It's better to create your own one, there is a tutorial on SitePoint that explains this very well.

In my opinion template engines like smarty are horrible. PHP itselfs allows you to separate the design from the program logic very well. You can either string replace your own codes, or just (and better) include php variables in the HTMl code. It's in no way worse than using some pseudo code like Smarty does
