  Old  Video editing software

I need some real video editing software (real meaning: not Windows Movie Maker or iMovie) for a project I'm in the middle of - however the software I've been using at school (Adobe Premiere) only works on XP and I run 2000. Can anyone recommend some decent alternatives?

well that's kinda the point, I'm not running anything because it wont run on my system
I downloaded the trial of the latest version (adobe premiere pro 1.5) and the installer told me that it wouldn't run on 2000.

for windows i'd personally recommend vegas video
thanks, I'll check that out.
