Old  Getting back into the web hosting market...

I think I've told one or two of you here, but I used to run my own webhosting company when I was like 12... being so young and naive it didn't really go so well.

But, through the two years that I ran the company - I learnt a lot from various people, and I'm now thinking about getting back into it.

I've just purchased a VPS (virtual private server) but now I've got my eye on a nice dedicated server, I've worked out I could sell the following package 16 times at $19.99 and make a nice profit each month.

Of course, webhosting isn't all about the cost and packages, I know support would be required which I would offer in the form of email, instant messaging and support tickets. After this one server was filled then I would progress by purchasing another server, maybe the same one or maybe a better one and host more packages - or different types...

Anyway, here's the package which I want your opinions on...
5GB Space
75GB Bandwidth
Cpanel & Fantastico
Unlimites features (MySQL databases, addon / parked / subdomains, emails etc.)
$19.99 Monthly.

What are your opinions on that package guys?

Fantastic amount of Bandwidth!
Nice amount of space too
Sounds good

I used to run a hosting site myself, but I ended up giving all the space/bandwidth away - im just too nice

That's actually what happened with me at first marky with my first hosting company, I was too young and found my clients having the hosting for free, I was just too lazy and couldn't be bothered so I didn't charge them, but now that's going to change

i think just creating a random hosting company without targeting certain groups of people is kind of pointless. for example: http://www.globat.com/ it is very hard to compete with any plan they have just because they are much larger and can offer huge amounts of things for less. i think you need to target a certain group or something. such as you see media temple sponsors certain sites, so it becomes almost the cool thing to host with them if you know what i mean...
