It's not free in commercial environments for hosting companies, unless you're advocating copyright infringement and software piracy?

Nope, I don't pirate software.

Windows is free and legal if you know where to look.

No it's not. Not in commercial environments for hosting companies. Unless you can prove otherwise?

The fact you have to ask that question shows you know absolutely nothing about Microsoft Windows licensing for servers

Please, enlighten us on how to get a free copy of Windows.

If a moderator or admin would like to see proof, please PM me.

Because I asked how hosting companies pertain to me saying that you can legally get windows for free, means I know nothing about licensing?

How does that make any sense at all?

Why do you need to show a mod or admin proof? If it is indeed legal, just show us all and explain how it is legal. Otherwise, you are just talking.

Why can you not share the information in this thread? If it's a legitimate method as you claim then surely it's no secret? Put up

Because hosting companies are a COMMERCIAL environment, meaning the licensing is completely different from that of a typical end user system, not to mention the fact that they generally have to use the 'Server' flavour of their OS and not the versions aimed at the end user ('Home', 'Professional', etc).

So, you may be able to get a trial and limited version of Windows for free, or perhaps even a free copy of the end user distributions, but you cannot obtain a copy of Windows Server to be used for hosting environments for free. If you're confused - that's what we're talking about; Windows hosting.
