Only big business use back up servers (in case of downtime caused by blackouts or disasters), which is why 99% of us here don't need another host for back up reasons. But we do need multiple hosts for SEO and promotional reasons.

Yes I prefer multiple host. This is necessary because all of your websites should not go down in the same time.
