  Old  Help With Dell Inspiron 2600 !

I was messing around with my laptop, When i can upon a password for the harddrive, So i entered a password and confirmed it then went to enter it once it asked me and it wouldnt accept it, Here are its words:

'Please Enter Master User Password:'

I went onto my motherboard and taken the battery out and left for a while but that never worked does anyone have any ideas please

So im locked out my hard drive !!!! and can not get onto my laptop

Well all you can do now is dump everything and re install windows.

I think you're out of luck,

I found a thread somewhere else saying if it's a "CMOS" password you can remove the CMOS battery for a couple of minutes to reset, otherwise:


Most often you'll find this feature in laptops who's BIOS allow you to set a password for Hard Drive access that is stored ON the Hard Drive!

Without entering the password the hard drive will not unlock and therefore all attempts to read or write to the drive will be denied.
Go find yourself a brute forcer :P or contact the makers.
