There is so much disinformation out there regarding computers that it absolutely amazes me.
Macbook vs. Macbook Pro
1. 20G smaller drive (You can Upgrade this on your own)
2. Slightly smaller display
3. Integrated graphics
4. no backlit keyboard
5. DVI adapter not included (whats $20 dollars between friends? )
6. PCExpress slot ( Do they make anything for this slot anymore?)
7. Aluminum shell (I've heard this is a bit of problem with wifi and my house is all wifi, all the time)
8. Ambient light sensor (cool wizbang feature that is not useful to me)
9. Auto-dimming display ( read above )
10. Higher-resolution display
11. Matte display option
The $1299 macbook at Apple.com vs. the $1999 Macbook Pro at Apple.com... boils down to games. The graphics card will not help you unless you are using OpenGL for games or some sort of 3D CAD work. For 3D CAD work you would be much better off with a desktop and 8GB of Ram with Quadro FX card from Nvidia.
Performace wise... 2.0 to 2.16GHZ or 8% is NOTHING you will notice.
In closing, the MBP are super overpriced when you compare what you get with the macbook white 2.0ghz w/ 1gb ram
Google: Photoshop and Ram and Graphics card
All the myths about 2d apps using the graphics card will disappear if you do a little homework.
