True... but for video editors, special effects creators etc. it's not enough. Especially when rendering large sequences.

If only my schools Film department had some of these bad boys. It takes freaking half an hour to render an effect on premiere v0.01 haha

Yea, I know what you mean. Rendering a movie in Adobe Premiere, can take a life time. My Colleges computers are actually quite good, but it still takes a really long time to render everything.

With 16GB of RAM, and a 8 Core Processor, this is really a machine for people in the Media business.

I've just got a machine with similar spec, but it didn't cost half as much. Although it only has 8gb of RAM, but the same processors. It does have better hard drives and a better graphics card though.

I would guess another company, since he got roughly the same spec for a lot cheaper. Maybe not though.

faint`, are you running a server motherboard or what? I checked on NewEgg, and all of the mobos that support dual processors are for servers.

8 core is just so awesomely del.icio.us! I wonder if you need a small generator to power one of these things. It would be funny to walk outside and have a look at the power meter when that beast kicks on... it would be moving so fast the numbers would blur... lol.
