My Dell XPS 400, 3GB of ram and a 512MB graphics card ATI 1600x, with Vista installed. Is **** I can't play games, photoshop takes 2 minutes to load, windows has crap software for photos and media. Although nothing is wrong with their browsers, they just suck, no explanation needed. Safari on Windows loaded faster for me then IE7.

With a Mac, I can load photoshop in 15 seconds with 2 gb of ram, it has great software, I mean great, easy to make your own effective ones too. It's far more pleasing, I can give a rats ass if you think that doesn't matter or it shouldn't be compared to Vista. I can play Halo, although it doesn't need much to run it FINE with 30fps, with NO graphics card, but onboard. I can change the harddrive, the ram and add external hd's if needed. Although pc's are much more expandable I will give it that.

I can still run Windows Vista about better then I could on my own dedicated machine for it. Although obviously it can almost never be better, it will never fail to impress me that it's not far behind.

Back on-topic, Cory I recommend the Macbook, as I can barely play games on my Dell XPS, let alone a laptop I doubt it much. The macbook has great software for small little prices, except for Photoshop, which will soon be potentially slowed down by Pixelmator as it has a decent feature list as so you will still be able to design.

Although you have experience with both if I remember, so the choice is yours.

What on earth do you do with your computer for it to take that long? No offence, but you must browse porn all day and download any old random crap for a PC of THAT spec to be as slow as you are saying.

I thought i would put it to the test and load up Photoshop on my laptop...it took 6 seconds (and no I haven't had it loaded up since the last time I turned it on).

I have no clue why my computer is taking that long, could it be that I don't even use it anymore? Could be, but still no excuses for that long.

Macs = 0 viruses, there's so many more viruses on Windows its not even funny. Everything comes with a mac, no 3rd party ****, it's all integrated. Make a movie? iMovie and iDVD. Code? XCode? Browse? Fastest browser there is, Safari. Chat? iChat. Read Mail? Mail. Photos? iPhoto and Photo Booth. Need something? Spotlight instantly searches everything. Speed? I open Photoshop in 7 seconds (I have a 2GB RAM MBP). Bluetooth? Yes. A dock so you can organize and instantly launch your apps, nothing like that on Windows. Want to jam to some music? Listen and buy on iTunes, create and edit in Garageband. Don't even talk about aesthetics. Also, there isn't 8 different versions of the OS, you get everything for a cheap price (a full OS for 150, 64 Bit with more features than you can count). I play games a lot, and there's nothing better. I play Halo and 2142 Battlefield, and there's virtually no lag. Apple cost more because they're better in every aspect.
