  Old  Zend Studio 4.0

Hey There,
How many of you developers have worked with the new Zend Studio 4.0? I current have the professional version and am loving every minute of coding with it. It has a very nice interface (in my opinion) and it's debugger is fantastic. This is a must have program for any hardcore PHP programmers in my opinion.

What are your thoughts on this product?

Really, you haven't even heard of it? It is a very nice editor for PHP. Many say its the best out there. Check it out (http://www.zend.com). Download the Trial version and let me know what you think.

Never heard of it :P I'm not sure whether they're just crazy or haven't updated their site in 7 years. They compare PHP with ASP...

I haven't worked with ASP yet but have read some stuff about it, and am still unsure which one I feel is better. I honestly dont think I will ever leave PHP & mySQL, I just love it!

Lol. Its all down to taste I suppose. I like the structed Framework of ASP.NET; even 1.1 but preferably 2.0. PHP... is more out there. It has no Framework

Yeah, Quick Question: Was ASP.NET hard to pick up/learn? Do you have any examples of some applications you've created in ASP.NET? I'm interested in learning more about it.

It was surprisingly easy to learn. I picked up most in a few days - its the tweaking that is a great deal harder. You can do so many things in it without the Tweaking but for power you need to know Visual Basic or C#; the languages which ASP.NET will take and make it more powerful and durable than PHP is. Some of the things you can do on Websites with the power of Application Programming Languages is quite generally amazing.

Best thing you could do to begin to pick it up is get the Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1 Version. It comes with MSDN Library 2005 on the Download, SQL Server 2005 Beta 2; and all the tools you'll need to get along with any Books, or just fiddle about.

I personally read Dino Esposito's Introduction to ASP.NET 2.0 from Microsoft Press; it was great and more than enough to get you into the basics and off thinking about all the things you can do.

Thanks a lot Lord, I'll be sure to check out those programs. I am actually thinking about heading to the book store today to buy an ASP.NET book and maybe a few others on Visual Basic or C#. Thanks again for your help. Do you have AIM? maybe we can chat?
