Old  best books for learning Flash on CS3?

I'm a print designer who has had an impossible time learning Flash.
Looking for a great book that'll lead me through Flash on CS3 and teach me the ins and outs and not just become an expensive paperweight/coffee table fodder.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know about any books, but the two best websites out there (in my opinion) are:

www.gotoandlearn.com <<Great free video tutorials
www.cartoonsmart.com <<Video tutorials that aren't free, but are extremely useful and easy to follow.

Cartoonsmart is very very good at quickly teaching you all of the basics that you need to know, and it makes learning flash extremely simple...I highly recommend it.

Here are some books on learning Flash.

I really like the way "Flash CS3 Professional on Demand" is laid out -- makes material easy to absorb.

The book "Abode Flash CS3 Professional Classroom in a Book" is written by Adobe themselvse. And I find that that "Classroom in a Book" series are very good.

Those would be the two books that I recommend.

www.gotoandlearn.com <-- cool link, thanks
I have bought a book for learning ActionScript (its a bit hard but for programmers, it seems like a good book). It was recommended to me by Ferry Halim (http://www.ferryhalim.com) <-- AMAZING SITE.

Friends of Ed puts out consistently excellent books on a variety of web development areas, especially Flash. They're good if you're not just looking for the basics, they put out books about some of Flash's more advanced capabilities.

If you are looking for a baby-step beginner's approach, I'd recommend Adobe Flash CS3 Professional On Demand by Andy Anderson, Steve Johnson, and Perspection Inc.

WOW, those look great. I'm purchasing a couple of the sections now, and I'll get back to everyone on how I find them.

Going from being a novice in flash who could make only the simplest rollover effects in flash, just one of the tutorials (buttons) has taught me a huge amount! I think I could do some pretty advanced button animation effects now, and make them look good!

The best tool I've found is the Total Training suite for Flash CS3.
