  Old  Signature Rules

We have reached a final verdict on the signature size and content subject, that has been discussed here:

http://www.talkfreelance.com/thread1888.html

The Final Verdict

Image signatures and Text signatures are allowed. If using an image signature keep the dimensions 450x60 pixels or below, no price mention or propoganda will be allowed im afraid.

Text links should be a straight link, with no propoganda or pricing. No more than 3 links per signature, on 3 seperate lines (maximum)

Moobies Final Thought

We're all adult enough to abide by guidelines, and also face certain consequences if not, while the consequences will not be harsh or life threatening in anyway we appreciate that you respect us as much as we respect you.

I don't think SigTrader's signatures should be permitted for use at Talk Free Lance. It's annoying, and always bumps up a thread when I scroll down because of the ad!

Over the next few days I'll be reviewing the signature case with the more active members, see what can be changed

Until then, safe sigging ;]

I'm thinking about creating a hack which would do a basic check on your signautre when you edit it and give you a heads up if it thinks it will be against the rules

Who knows...

Patrick

i actually had an idea

people like images in there sigs but most people dont like big ones
so incorporate the way avatars work into the sigs with the restrictions. quite simple really

so youd have a page that says right insert an image into your sig. you past the link into the box. it then checks the size and dimensions of the image and if its small enough. ok else die

then if it goes ok present a code like [img=SOMEUNIQUEIMGIDORLINK] then when thats parsed in the code it gets the link from the db and inserts it

just a way to control the size of sigs i have no idea bout implementing it though

We really shouldn't have to have any sort of hacks/mods for this. People should be able to read the rules and respect them. If someone breaks them then there sig will be suspended until they fix it

I know ppl should follow the rules but theres always ppl who brake them, a sig hack that automates the process is a good idea in my books.

A hack that automates something is also a good idea, saves an admin time
