Xbox 360... HELP ME!!

Today, I just got my Rainbow Six: Vegas and Gears of War. My 360 freezes a lot and i dont know how to fix it, and also the red lights appear a lot to. I need some help i really want to play my new games.

Also.. I bought my 360 a couple months ago, and just mailed in the 360 warranty even though it says "mail 10 days after purchase" do you think I will still get the warranty?

Those red lights help troubleshoot the problems your 360 is having. What quadrants are lighting up red?

I guess you'll find out soon if the warranty still works.

I think its the bottom left.. only 1 light though and the error code is E 79?

I seemed to have misplaced my manual, if you have your manual you could find out what the bottom left quadrant means. I tried looking on the support area of Microsofts website but it is hard to navigate around there.

Call up Microsoft it's a lot easier. My friend got a UPS box mailed to him from Microsoft when he needed to send his 360 a few months after he purchased it. They fixed it and shipped it for free.

From a basic Google search E79 is a hard drive error. Which means it could be a problem with the hard drive itself or maybe the cables are messed up. Try removing the hard drive? I don't know much about xbox 360. Good Luck

When I got my 360 I had the same problem. It is a hard drive error. First try to remove the hard drive, start up the Xbox, turn of the xbox, put the HardDrive back in. And see if it works now. If not take the HD to where you purchased your Xbox and they will exchange the hard drive for a new one. (That is what they did for me).
