  Old  Logo Design Pricing

I am curious. What are the general fee that freelance designers charge for logo design services? What do you prefer, set price or hourly? If hourly what is the general charge per hour?

Looking forward to your responses.

I usually don't buy from other designers, but from past experience, set prices are usually the way they go.

We are an established Logo Design Business and I would say flat rate is the best solution. Everyone wants to know how much exactly are they going to pay.

$400 is a lot, considering most logo designs are simple, I could see $400 for a established larger business, or perhaps a Identity package?

Yes.I agree with Matt. For instance, I have a logo for my business already so I'm not looking for an identity..yet I need a logo for my blog and people quote $300 and up. I think that's steep.. it depends on the project. If it's for a business/identity I think around $300. But it's for a small project it should be no more than $100-$150. (Of course complexity and etc should be considered as well)

Oh and I think everything should be quoted at a flat fee. That way there's no misunderstanding when it comes to the final transaction

I believe Flat rate is always better. When people see hourly rates, it sometimes scares them away. I know in other industries, like webhosting for example, they charge like $20+ an hour for stuff and that makes people kinda stay away and look elsewhere.

flat rate is always better, the lowest price i've seen at various forums was $50, which is pretty low.
