I don't suggest dreamweaver for coding.... May want to look into php designer 2007, i personally find it very useful... Then again I just like color highlighting.

^ is the best IMO for a beginner. Since W3C is where you go to get Valid, Strict etc. etc., they offer a guide which is quite helpful as well.
For learning to slice, check this guide out, its helped a few good coders.

**Learn to code from scratch, once you know that, Dreamweaver is really useful in the department of organizing and making code easier for the developer. Also has a few cool features like highlighting (N++ does too) auto-closing tags etc. etc. Looking at site source codes helps you get a great understanding for coding as well (i.e functions, what makes this do that etc.). Good luck
