Old  Hmmm Don't Know What to Do...

What should happen.

Lets say I've created a site design for an individual. At first the client wasn't a big fan of the design so i told him multiple times "tell me what you wish to have changed and i'll change it to your liking"

I've spent over 20 hours working on the site and hes decided to not pay any money for my work at all. What should i do? Should he still pay a small portion to cover my time on the project. This has never happen to me so i really don't know what to do.

Best Regards,
Jamie

Since it doesn't sound like you had him sign a contract nor was any percentage of money upfront told to be paid, it doesn't look like you can do much but to warn others of his attitude.

The customer is always right (even if you don't like to admit it). In this case, it seems likely that you aren't entitled to anything unless signed contracts exchanged hands.

ok i'm not saying the client isn't right. He has every right to not like the template thats not the problem. lol

I"m asking:

Should i be entitled to a small perfect of the money for the time i spent working on this. It's not like i didn't show previews, and ask what they would like changed / edited.

I'm not a designer nor coder but I would just get over it unless there was a legal document saying otherwise.

Best thing you can do is learn from this experience and never let it happen again.

omg what is with this... haha

yes \ no

from someone with experience with clients.

Theres not some kinda of binding contract or anything along those lines.

Ok here put yourself in my position. You working for a couple of days planning and designing a website. After a preview of two the client decides he doesnt like the design. So now you have all of that time wasted. Should you be entitled to a small percentage of the money.

Im not even saying this is a real situation its just a simple question
