  Old  Looking for constructive feedback

Some of you may remember a week or two ago I posted here looking for a vBulletin designer. I didn't find what I was looking for, so I gave it a shot myself. I'm looking for some constructive feedback so that I can smooth out the rough edges.

Thank you in advance,

Make it less wide and customize the blue icons.

The width is fine, I think centering it is what it needs. I agree that the blue icons should be customized and maybe change the font used on the top red bar where it says "For gamers, by gamers". I'm not really feeling all the white at the top, perhaps make it the same gray that you have under the logo?

Loving the red and black combo, the sideshow is great and the navigation is very original. Might be a little cluttered, some things not really necessary such as the calender. I also don't like how I can't see how many posts or threads are in each forum.

Hope that helps a little.

Thank you all so far btw, I made some of the changes already. The width I know is an issue with the design. It is meant to be viewed with resolution widths of 1280+. I do plan on making a slimmer version in the near future.

Keep em' coming.

Sorry, thats my fault for being greedy running two 19" wide screen monitors :P. Yes the width is a problem in that case.

I think it would better with some padding on both sides of the total width

I assume you mean center it, and I've done so now.

When it loads for me, all I see is some advertising boxes and a "story" box and I have no idea what the site is about. Then when I scroll down I see some content, but am still very confused.

If you work on the layout and placement/ sizing of objects I think it could help with the confusion.

I added an "About Us" blurb on the homepage. I understand what you mean by placement/sizing, but I'm finding vBadvanced isn't as flexible as I'd like it to be. If I wanted to break the vBa mold, and go with a more advanced CMS in general... I think it'd work out better.

Does anyone know what CMS TomsHardware.com uses? Or one like it...
