^ That opens the DirectX Diagnostics Tool thing, yeah? Well when i go on there and click onto the "Display" tab and click the "Test Direct3D" button - it gives you some tests yeah? Well the one were it runs in Directx7 works fine and so does DirectX9, however when it does DirectX8 the screen mangles up. The same thing happens for a game i wanted to play (Image 1). Any ideas why this happens??
Probably best yeah to just upgrade to DirectX 9c. It will sort out any problems you might be having with DirectX 8, although if it is something with the Operating System beyond the DirectX's reach you could just have the same thing. Worth a shot.
The problem ain't sorted, however my mom got me a laptop yesterday for my birthday and i'l just install the stuff that don't work on my computer, onto this.
