Old  Decrease 5 Day Posting Rule in Marketplace

The marketplace seems to have expanded greatly, yet there is still a 5-day posting rule, something I have never seen before anywhere else.

I think talkfreelance should change the rule to allow one thread per 24 hours in the advertising forums. It's a big bummer to have to wait 5 days to list something new for sale. It discourages freelancers from listing much of their work for sale here as I'm sure some would undoubtably like a quick sale. They probaby resolve to posting on other forums, leaving talkfreelance out of some great work.

I think decreasing the posting limit will attract more freelancers to our forum as well as make the current ones happy. In my opinion, we need to cope with the rapid growth of talkfreelance and giving the marketplace a well deserved boost is a great way to do that.

I've seen it elsewhere and I don't see a reason to lower it. It garantees that your thread will get some exposure because it slows down the pace at which threads are posted. You can just wait before posting a thread to have more than one thing to sell.

And the size of the forum getting bigger is a reason why we should keep this rule.

I don't think it will get reduced, and while i'm at it edder, could you please edit your signature so it complies with the Talkfreelance rules.

No, I also think you shouldn't decrease it.It's not such a pain in the ass to wait five days, I mean, if you really want to sell more than one product, just put it together in one thread.I've seen a lot of forums having rules like this, and that sort of limits is needed in my opinion.

It's the same at WHT, it could even be 7 days. It wouldn't be a bad idea but there would have to be a limit per week and also exclude re-posting the same material! Not really worth it though, just stick with the current.

Couldn't have said it any better.

I believe I have coded my signature into valid bbcode, now.

Great responses, guys, & I think your points are stronger than mine.

It should be 5days for each category, you can always bump items into more than 1 thread.

The fact that the marketplace is expanding is a reason to keep the 5-day rule. Imagine how annoying it would be to post your offer and then an hour later find it on the second page because of the amount of new offers being posted.

Hmm, that's an interesting thought. I support this point a lot. There are seven forums in the Offers & Requests category. It should be okay to post a new thread every 5 days in each forum, not limited to the category as a whole.
