dav5 Release!

So, the world's largest art community is having their 6th bday with the release of version 5 of the website.

Are you goin to check it out? Well, for those that have accounts there, be there on that day, it's gonna be hype. I can't wait to see the posted comments about dav5.

In my personal opinion, the backend of the site ROCKS!. I'm dead serious, they've made it more of an application than just a website but in the process complicated things alot more.

Anyways, if you're gonna be there on Monday check out http://designerscouch.deviantart.com. Go to their chatroom on Monday and by just chilling in there and giving your views as a designer, you can get free stuff. It's all in good spirits and in celebration of dA 6th bday.

I remember seeing some small previews of the new version a while ago, I'm eager to see how it will look.

I've seen the live version before, it works amazing.

Hopefully; there new version will have some modifications that will help with their heavy server usage. The lag they create at sometimes can get quite annoying in my opinion; even with a paid account.

It has more use of css I believe.

I dont go to DA simply for the speed issues, drives me nuts. I know sometimes the best things in lfe are worth waiting for, but DA isn't one of them.

That's the exact reason I stopped using their website. I loved the print sales and all, but the fact that I was waiting for pages to load for 1+ minutes on a 8meg line was just too much.

If they fixed the speed issues, I bet they'd double in size.

I think speed have been resolved to an extent but hey, I'm on a 1MB connection so I can generalize.

Seems cool, deviantart is definently the best reosurce site out there.

And yet somehow I've never used it for resource.
