Opinions on this header please...
Hello, could you please tell me what you think of this header?
I have created it in various colours, and would appreciate your opinions of preference? Ideally I want to use red, because it is a serious colour and the theme of the website is serious.
Thank you,
Shaun.

I would take away the drop shadows, and make the text more clear. The gradients could do with some work, too.

Thank you for your advice, what do you think of the updated header at the bottom of the page?

Better, but still I would make the text slightly larger..
Also the gradient of Welcome Shaun could be slightly brighter, too.
Remember, this is all in my opinion. Someone may come after me and say they love it.
Gareth.
Ps. it is quite hard to imagine what the header will look like in context...

The colours blend TOO well if you get what I mean. Nothing really stands out to me. I would say since it's pink try to involve more dark greys. Dark grey and pink are a lovely combination.

I like it, I just do not like the "tiny text" that says 'Control Panel', 'View/Edit Profile', maybe make that bigger?

I think they all look really good but personally my favorite is the second one down.
I think with CCTV cameras being grey etc it looks more fitting. Also that grey has a nice sinister feel about it.
I think the pink contradicts with the background images.
The AV of AVIOD needs to be made clearer and the word Link is slightly hard to read.

I cannot work out how to blend the images into the background, as can be seen here: http://www.mint.com/index.html (at the top between the image and the gradient background). I can't make a decent gradient and desperately need to blend in the same was as this website in order for it to look fine. Without blending, it's going to look stupid.
Check out the link again to see the layout so far (displayed at the bottom of the list of images). http://www.ioimi.com/samples
