Old  How to reduce image size without sacrificing quality?

I have some bits of pieces that need to be "assembled". How can I reduce the huge image size of 165 mb without losing the image quality (high resolution, pdf format and the like). If I send it, it will surely take me forever.

you should reduce first resolution of image size and reduce size of image as proportionate as resolution.

What is it exactly? If its something such as a logo or any graphic that can be resizable in the future, I would recommend making it in vector form so that it will never lose quality.

you can just open the photo with Microsoft office picture manager or windows photo gallery or bitmap
then edit by reducing the size it will not change the quality

... have you guys ever resized a photo before?

you can't just change the dimensions either. design software can't change the size of a pixel on screen, so it changes the scale of the inch instead, which is why a 300dpi image is 3x as big as it seems.

if you go to view>print size in photoshop, it'll zoom out to the proper 1:1 ratio and show you how big the image will print. if you change the document dimensions, you'll reduce size, because you'll be changing the overall size of the document. it can still be 300 dpi, but it's going to print 4" to small if you change the canvas size from 6x12 to 4x8.

if you're working with print or large format, you're stuck working with large files.

  Old  Fireworks is very good

I use Adobe Fireworks, which is a graphics/images program especially for use on web. Or use Photoshop "save for web" option.

When you choose the transform tool hold shift and resize and it will not lose quality.
