  Old  Dreamhost.com

I've been with this company for years now, and they're absolutely amazing. After bouncing around to several different ones in the years before that without any real satisfaction, I discovered DreamHost.com and I've been really happy with their service. I've used them for my large website Flyleaf Online, and I've never really had issues. The site sucks up a lot of space/bw, so it was nice to find a host that offered a lot for cheap.

Basically, to get the good prices, you have to pay for a 1-10 years up front. But as long as you're planning on sticking around for a while, it's a good deal.

Take a look at the hosting package.

Disk Storage at signup: 500 GB
Automatically Increases Weekly By: 2 GB
Monthly Bandwidth at signup: 5.0 TB
Automatically Increases Weekly By: 40 GB
MySQL 5 Databases: Unlimited

Anyway -- I think this hosting company is awesome. They take care of my needs very well.

I have them for two of my sites but I can't say I'm overly impressed with them. They are better than my last host (hostmysite.com) but still aren't up to par for me. My site experiences sluggishness due to them overcrowding the shared servers and I am forever writing them with the email clients going down on me. On occasion my site will completely crash with dbase errors but most the time it just screeches to a crawl. My biggest complaint is when you submit a support ticket for an issue it usually takes them longer than an hour to respond, sometimes up to 12 hours. Thats just poor customer service IMO.

I run a business on my site and I can't afford downtime, if it wasn't such a major pain in the ass to up and move I would and likely I'll end up doing that when I can pay someone to do it for me so I don't have to fumble around trying to figure it out. There are much better hosts out there, I'd say pass on dreamhost, just my 2 cents.

I've always had fast service with support tickets [generally within an hour or so], and my site rarely goes slowly. I've heard that some servers that they use go slower than others though. Perhaps I just got lucky.

Thanks for the input though. It's good to hear about your experiences, just in case something goes wrong with my site and I sit around wondering what's going on. :]

I've been leeching off of my brothers DH account since I first started making websites, I like how they have tons of bandwidth and space, but the speed and uptime aren't the best... we're changing servers at the moment.

Their speed or uptime isn't the best as previously stated, just another overselling company as their main marketing technique.
