PHP nuke is definatly the classic, Thatl get you a solid clan site, with plenty of space, probably more then youll be able to maintain. Also it has had some awful security issues for years, i dont know if they have been fixed or not.
e107 might be something to look into, its really easy to get a basic setup for, tho it cant do anything too advanced compared to Nuke.
