In wordpress when you make pages, how do you make posts on them? for an example this

You cannot make posts on pages. You can make posts on categories.

Maybe you should install Top Level Categories Plugin (http://fortes.com/2007/02/27/top-lev...ies-plugin-01/) to remove ugly /categories/ prefix from URL.
