  Old  Google Checkout questions

I didn't really see these on their website, so I figured I would ask here. It was also hard for me to navigate their site and find what I'm trying to look for.

1- can somebody take their money back like in paypal? If im selling a website, there is going to be no shipping, so no order delivery confirmation. In paypal, people can just file a complaint and sometimes its hard to win.

2- direct paying? Can user 1 at theiraddress@gmail.com directly pay me money that he owes, or is this something thats more made for processing card payments with an online store?

They can file a chargeback, although Google will investigate the buyers claim.

You can create an invoice for him.

So, by creating an invoice, I'm assuming I will be a lot more likely to win a claim? I hate having to sound like everybody is always trying to scam me, but I care about my money.

It's not a "claim" you can win or dispute. Everything is managed by Google, and if the user files a chargeback on their credit card, Google will look into it to see if a.) the ip address doesn't match the card holder's addres, b.) or if anything else to dis/prove the purchase.

So technically, if you send out an invoice to "John Smith," just because he pays with a credit card from "John Smith" doesn't mean that's who he is. So if it turns out that the $300 payment made to you was from a stolen card, that $300 charge is reversed.. Even if you have already had that payment deposited into your bank account.

Sure, but Google will investigate the buyers claim to make sure it is a legitimate one. So that the both sides won't be hurt!
