Old  What's your single best SEO tip?

I mainly rely on writing original articles and spread them across the network to boost my site's SEO ranking.

What's your single most used SEO technique?

Content isn't really enough, unless you create something which is extremely viral.

You need to create content which develops linkbait, however, it isn't that easy these days!

Without content you can't really optimise your site for search engines.

In mine and billions of other peoples eyes, content is king.. Content is more then enough. When a bot crawls your website they read content not linkbait what ever that is.

in general, I'd like optimize my site including keyword research, meta tag, alt tag, title and so on, then review my site structure and submit it to search engines, finally write some articles in forum and blog. after all, content is the king in SEO, i think. what you do is just to offer information to visitors.right?

Linkbait is content. It's content specifically written to attract backlinks / 'Get Dugg'.
Ie, 'Top 10 x' lists, controversial pieces, or rumours.

My tip would be use 'title=""' values. It's something that's often overlooked when optimising a site.

Peter, I agree with you there - but its not as if google will read your page and think, oh, that was a great read, I loved his writing style etc. It scans your page contents and picks out keywords - that's all content is good for in terms of SEO.

HOWEVER - when people, the billions you are speaking of, mention content as king. They mention it, not so it can just be crawled, but so that it can create link backs, repeat visits etc.

I didn't say creative content, i said 'content content content' basically if you don't have fresh new content you'll die. if you copy content you'll die.

The first tip to get any traffic from search engines is to get good quality decent content.

The google bot will crawl your website and pick out keywords and say. oh thats unique.
