  Old  Buffalo Portable External

Does anyone have experience using the Buffalo Portable external?

http://tinyurl.com/559jbd

I've been using an unbranded external for about 6 months, and its starting to die on me.

Any recommendations would be awesome as I intend on putting all my freelance work on it.

I love my Western Digital hard drives, I don't have the Passport but I have 2 MyBooks and they're great. Had them for a couple years now.

Are you sure? I've heard that they aren't very reliable.

I love Buffalo's, with built in heat sinks, you can't go wrong.

@slavingia I don't see why you are saying WD is "sexah", I could careless about how the drive looks, as long as it stores data. I just store mine in a drawer and I never look at it. The thing that Buffalo's have is built in heat sink, fans, as it says 37% faster (it's true, I compared copying 2 1GB zip archives, and the Buffalo was far faster).

Western Digital's aren't bad choices, but I think you can get more bang for your buck, Buffalo's also have firewire included which is nice. WD I had to pay $50+ to get a bigger size to have firewire.

Thanks Garrett, I think I'll go for that.
