  Old  MS Silverlight?

I saw this earlier today:

Microsoft Unveils Silverlight to Power the Next Generation of Media Experiences on the Web
Leading media companies and solution providers announce support for new solution for video and interactivity on Mac- and Windows-based Web browsers.
It's basically a Flash competitor - what does everyone think?

I'm not going to go into details and break it down while comparing it to Flash (as going through all the details would take quite some time), but it doesn't stand a chance. Maybe (although unlikely) in the future when a new breed of developers come along, but I can't see Flash professionals learning a new technology just because a new one exists now.

/agree.

The only people who will use it are MS and you will have to download more codecs just to see videos on MS.

It says it is going to be very powerful and revelutionary, but microsoft always says this. Every product will be revelutionary, it's way behind flash in experience and testing and by the time they will have it right adobe will have released somthing ten times better.
