just an FYI in terms of your first post you mentioned proxies. I have a friend that was sitting in the same seat you are trying to think of ways to make some money online. he made a couple proxies for unblocking myspace, facebook whatever. they seemed to be working good for the first couple months but nothing you would quit your day job over.
eventually he found there were alot of bots attacking his bandwitdth from asia where some governments control what people are aloud to look at on the internet etc. and he started recieving complaints and threats from his service provider (he owns a dedicated server) to shut them down. so if your going down that path just lookout and do some research.
Because you can always make a tutorial site/blog. Visitors wont be a problem, you can just submit stuff to good-tutorials, pixel2life and etc to get visitors.
This what I was thing about doing, but I don't like to write a lot. So i didn't see a point.
I can only second that you do something you like . Updating a blog which you have no interest in and trying to thing of fresh ideas for the posts is depressing .

I will suggest you to start something diifrent (kinda social networking style) for designers. I am not talking about e-forums, but Something diffrent.
I know I am not clear, but you got to develope you own Idea!
