"Web 2.0" abuse

I never call any of my designs web 2.0 ... This because i think the term is kinda whored, people calling almost everything web 2.0 now.
But also because i myself dont really understand what web 2.0 exactly is...

It annoys me yes. The real concept behind "web 2.0" shouldn't the design, it's about the functionality of the site or web app. Sites are getting way more interactive, and are making the leap to full-blown web-based applications, and I think that's what Web 2.0 is all about -- it's just that most of these sites tend to stick with the same style.

I just describe the colors of the design, or use the words like clean, smooth, etc. I've never used web2.0 to describe a look, and I don't see why people do, especially now with all the criticism over people using the word, they are just hurting themselves.

because web2.0 is an internet buzzword.

people that don't actually know what they're talking about use buzzwords to impress other uneducated (in the subject) people.

I agree completely. There are few out there that understand what it is. I say go to an oreily web 2.0 conference, implement what you learned and then you make the cut. Welll maybe

Its like ajax, allot of people come to me and I just use ajax to be simple, but what they want is javascript, not ajax.
