Old  Where can I keep/host my server?

I want to start making multiplayer games in cocoa/objective c, so I am probably going to have to make my own little server software. But anyway, I have an extra, pretty powerful pc just laying around ever since I got my new workstation. Are there places where I can keep it/ have it maintained and at a constant internet connection?

That's called a collocation, they provide space power and an internet connection. The rest is up to you.

I'm not aware of any specific ones that would be of use to yo. The host I use provides collocation services but they're in Detroit. You're going to want to find a local one, do a search on Google Maps or something similar to find ones near you then compare those.

The best option is to keep your server in DC near your location. Just look for DCs in Brooklyn OP

It is good to have a server collocated near your office or home. However this is not necessary. It is better to find a colo service at good price that features remote hands for example.

you should define with your needs, server hardware is different from workstation and if you have only powerful PC it won't be powerful as servers machine, think about it
