We currently make use of Zopim. However, we have found it to be a little glitchy at times.

Kayako and Live Person, both are very reliable and offer multiple essential features.

Although it's not free if you plan on using more than 1 user, I would recommend LiveZilla as it's been great for me!

We like to use Chatstack but if we had to chose another one to use we would use Tawk as its free and looks great.

Chatstack looks great. I like their one-time fee model, you don't see that very often.

I've seen a couple of recently launched live chat apps, which are interesting and modern (both have free versions on top of that).

The first one is FreshChat (www.freshchat.io). I use a Helpdesk software by the same company on HostingDiscussion and loving it. I appreciate the fact that the chat system integrates with the helpdesk.

The second one is HubRocket (www.hubrocket.com), which happens to be developed by a member of TF sister forum. It has cool insights and statistics that equips you with interesting data. Lightweight and customizable.
