  Old  .ME Domains

What does everyone think of .me domains? I've always bought .com's but there's so many open .me domains I decided to buy one today.

There was an auction recently at Sedo in which they were selling premium .ME domains. I was really after a couple like style.me or trust.me, but they really went too quick and I wasn't in the mood paying thousands for something that I didn't have a concrete plan for, although now I am regretting it a bit.

Just incase you're interested. http://www.123-reg.co.uk/ is doing a promo for .me domains (5 days left). They're only 1.99 (sterling) - so grab them now

I wouldn't build a website on a .me unless I can incorporate the "me" in the domain name.

Yes, a lot of them are free, that's why I use it as my own private short url service: 8lp.me.

I only have a couple and they're just to reserve my name and/or brand.

http://hover.com has cheap .me prices all the time. 'Cupcakes' promo code will net you 10% off too .

I don't get into .me domains. I have always registered .com also. Once I bought an .info domain and I ended up not liking it and letting it expired.

If you can incorporate the .me into the name some how, then you could probally pull it off. Usuage without that or using it as a blog would be useless personally.

Call me an old school guys, but I always go for .com domains for my own websites/blogs. If I found a good .me domain, I would register the domain and park it to sell.

The .me domain is a very good domain with creative uses like Artashes pointed out. But if you are looking to sell them, big companies and many business' still have it hammered into their heads that .com is the "true" domain, and if they don't have a .com they do not look professional.

.me will be more of a service industry or sex industry domain.

This will most certainly change in the future. There is just not enough capacity that .COM can provide and with growth of respectable businesses that use other extensions (Trillian.im or Lookbook.nu for example), search engines will start giving them more value as well.
