All is well with me with hostgator, I host a couple of my site's on there. I Also have a Mellow Host (http://melowhost.com) Reseller, and It's cheap, but don't expect a lack of quality. I tried it out to see what it would be like and to be honest, they have fast support aswell as a decent server!

Hostgator host most my site's though

I was a customer of theirs for 2 years until just recently when I switched to Earner's Host. I encountered a lot of FTP issues which forced me to move.

Jeff

I have been using *******.net web hosting for 2 weeks. I have no single problem with them. Difficult to say about their support, I have never used it yet.

Hmm, I have tried several over the last few years, Hostgator seems to be the one that stands out, careful thought with mellowhost, I tried it out to see how it worked, it has a lot of options for reseller account unfortunately they have a lot of glitches and major problems (Lost of data, changes that render your sites inoperable due to compatibility as well as continuous downtime for users hostings), 9 out of 10 times support is fast, billing it's strange.

Hostgators good and fast, never had any downtime in the year i was with them but if your site gets too much traffic you'll be suspended, but it's expected from shared hosting.

The thing is HostGator has a resource usage limit. Once it's reached you will be affecting the whole server and therefore affecting other customers. Once that happens, depending on the situation they will give you a hand on how to lower the resource usage or ask you to upgrade to a dedicated server.
