Your going to have to, because U.S. based hosts are under strict jurisdiction because most adult hosts usually link to illegal content. I am not saying you will, but it will be hard to find a U.S. based host. You can try U.K. though.

http://www.micfo.com/ Allows adult content. One of the first hosts I came across doing a search for adult hosting on Google.

Their live chat confirms it's allowed.

Jeff: Is adult content allowed?
Mark: yes , but it should have legal contents

By legal contents he means disclaimers are provided and that all legal measures are taken.

But HostedFX does - it's our TOS that the site must abide to.

But your TOS must abide with the datacenter, seeing how datacenter can suspend or even terminate at anytime. This is something I asked about when I first opened, and they said no.

Adult Material: Pornography is prohibited on our web servers. This includes sexual content, or direct links to adult content elsewhere. This is also true for sites that promote any illegal activity or content that may be damaging to our servers or any other server on the Internet. Links to such materials are also prohibited.
hmm.. Seeing how nude pics might be posted in a sense it can be considered porn. By looking at Jeff's link, it looks ok to me.

And did you ask them if a gay dating site qualified as 'adult'?

My mistake, I appologise Sam as Amaze pointed out, it probably wouldn't be suitable for your requirements.

No.

But Sam said it can potentially have nude content, which is adult material

That is a false claim. Adult hosting is out there in the US by far. There are even US hosts that market toward it. But the majority of (US) datacenters allow adult, so long it's legal adult. Most of the time the host simply put a clause in their TOS about it as they don't want it becoming an issue.

US hosts are not under any "strict" jurisdiction. Pornography is completely legal in the US, expect for child pornography and everything of the sort. It is up to the site owner/operator to inform the visitor that adult content lies within.

Here are a few (of the many) us DCes that allow (legal) adult:

Legal adult content is allowed on SoftLayer dedicated servers.

Steadfast: As long as the content is legal, we will not suspend your account wihout notice, though we do reserve the right to refuse hosting to any party for any reason with proper notice being given.

That was the first 3 datacenters that popped into my mind. There are many many more.
