The things you should have to help protect your PC, but probably don't because they're such a hassle—stuff like virus scanning, firewall settings, tune-ups, and file backups—all delivered to you in a friendly, easy-to-use package that runs quietly in the background.
Windows are now signing up beta testers for their new software OneCare, which looks to be another anti-virus/firewall product. Has anyone been invited to test this yet?
I got the beta and it seems to have completely screwed up my system. Ever since I installed it I get massive lockups in windows explorer and when I close that down and try to start it up again using task manager (which is what I usually do if explorer crashes), taskmanager has a cry and freezes up itself.
I actually like it, i recent reformatted and tried to install as little as possible and their one care / anti-spyware is great... my computer isn't top of the line and I hardly notice it running, unless it does an update or somethin like that, its very simple and I would rather trust microsoft to degfrag and clean up files automaticly then some guy online with adware stuffed software that just eats up ur computer..
to much resources used by it but hoping when it goes public it wont be a power hungry program
