I want to do somthing in php!
Hey everyone,
I want to code my own php script but I can't think of anything, It needs to be sellable. Its going to be my project for my spare time so give me some ideas please. I was going to do a review site script..
Thanks
In fact I might try doing an addon for vbulletin.

That'd be good, try and find something unique, which is very hard these days.

Are you sure that that needs to be a factor?... Chances are, anything you want to do has been done before, is available for free, and is better than you can do. Then again, I might just be a sucky coder.

Yeah I am pretty sure Salathe codes (if I remember right).
As for a product to make, I have no clue. Maybe go for an advanced upload script (nothing plain, something advanced that people are going to want to use).
Just my two cents,

He's right. When I'm not making logos, I'm coding with PHP/MySQL or playing around with JavaScript.

I disagree. Creating a CMS is sellable. I used to be Product Manager of http://www.vgportal.com/scripts and there are about 20 other gaming CMS's out there and we made a sale about every day (we were selling copies for $120 USD).

Thats true, money can be made form anything ofcourse Forums however are the 'big thing' on the internet. Almost every site has one, if you could make one that beats even VB (which would obviously be VERY hard) and then promote it right, aslong as you kept providing a good service you'd be in to make a killing thats for sure. . . although with all the freebie forums its always gunna be hard
