I think webbased PHP and MySQL are the best, other than that I think use Java applications pay well, too

I would recommend learning C# (.NET), one of my brothers is coding for mobile devices and raking the money in from consulting (www.opennetcf.com). Then again, he has spent years being the "geek" and coding through the night to get to this stage.

Some people are natural coders, others aren't. I would advise not even bothering getting into the industry unless you really have a passion for it, otherwise where's the job satisfaction going to come from?

gah so VisualBasic is a waste of time? i was just starting to pick it up aswell (although i could never see myself as a programmer anyway tbh way too boring)

I want to learn some coding languages and I also want to know where the money is. I dont want to learn C or .net incase in 10 years its old and a new type of coding comes out? Will that happen?
