Mistakes to avoid in webdesign?
I'll start.....
1. Avoid using heavy drop shadows on text.
Let's keep this list going and hopefully at the end we can have a great resource for new designers!

3. Contrast: make sure 80 year old ladies can read your site so all of us young wipper snappers can read when we are 80.

4. Frames. Just don't do it. I've only ever come across one occassion where they were actually appropriate, (a couple of weeks ago in fact, when I created a little test utility at work for testing post/pre CSS layouts side by side).

6. Too many different varieties of fonts - stick to a minimum of clear, readable fonts.
