  Old  Thunderbolt from Intel

The new Intel technology called Thunderbolt is making the headlines nowadays.

With some already calling it a USB killer, Thunderbolt can gain transfer speeds of up to 20 times faster than USB 2.0.

From Intel: With the 10 Gbps performance of Thunderbolt products you can transfer a full-length HD movie in less than 30 seconds, or backup 1 year of continuous MP3 playback in just over 10 minutes.

While the newest USB 3.0 connection maxes out at around 4Gbps (400MBps), Thunderbolt will push over 50% more than that (in a realistic environment).

Unfortunately the technology won't be available anytime soon, definitely not in time of my next PC purchase this year... damn.

That's a good news. Thuderbolt word is new for me. In the future we have 4G or 5G and Thunderbolt. We can experience lightning fast speed. It will be faster then our thoughts.

Why would you bump a 5 month old thread to say that?
