I use dreamweaver for the layouts and crimson editor for the core editing. For me Notepad is almost inexistent, although I see many people like it

I guess it's just what you begin with that counts. They're only text editors in the end.. produce what you put in, and no more.

Wow! I can't believe all of the people who still code by hand in Notepad. I started out using Notepad a long time ago when I first learned HTML, but after I had a good grasp of HTML i started moving over to WYSIWYG editors to save time. I will NEVER go back. It saves soo much time. Time is of the essence. If I can do the same thing in Dreamweaver in half the time i'm definitely going to.

Automated code tends to be a mess, i use a combination of both, first in WYSIWIG, then brush over it by hand

Dreamweaver is very handy when it comes to recalling all those CSS codes, but for a clean code I start off in notepad and import into dreamweaver, that way I have code structured my way and can get the advantage of 'less' typing.

I love Dreamweaver, I normally do it in code, then will check the code is right by looking at how it would look in a normal page in the other view. So yeah, its very handy and I like it.
