I'm pretty sure that they have to be direct links.
Also guys, a guy told me that this guide is roughly correct if you link to sits that concentrate on the same subject as yours.

Not bad information, but it goes without saying that the Google algorithms would be more advanced than that, alot more factors would be taken into consideration but take this as it is intended, a general rough guide of there or thereabouts what is needed.
