  Old  Gaming Card

I just recently started using my Windows XP Home Edition laptop to game with and usually I have no trouble. I find it funny however that all the Microsoft Games like "Halo" (trial) cause my comp to crash with a stop error.
Oh well it probably my graphics card (and the rest of my hardware) which is a Radeon Mobility 9000.

Simply my advice to all those out there is this.
When buying a computer, don't simply assume that you wont use it for gaming and consequently buy the cheapest card u can get.

Peace Out

I hear you... I'm suffering from that right now. I never though I'd play any "hardcore" games so I didn't even bother taking gaming into consideration... at all. So now I'm stuck with a p4 and a geforce4 mx 440... cool games don't like that... next upgrade I will keep gaming in mind

Yeah, I just recently got a upgrade to my vid card aswell...
Anyone who is buying a new setup, get atleast 1GB of RAM and a decent card, good enough to play most games..

I would go for something in budget, modern, and has what you want. I'd say go for the 8600 series due to if you want DirectX 10. I play Flight Simulator which uses DirectX 10, and that game is awesome with it.

I have the same card except it's interigated into my card so I really have two video cards. I've very recently purchased an NVIDA Geforce 8600 GT from TigerDirect for only $89*. It's awesome, less memory usage for me. The graphics alone toke away over 150MB RAM from my 1GB, but it went to 1GB right after installing my new card.

Hmm I would go for a 7900GS if your not gonna play DX10 games. If you want to DX10, try to opt for a 8600GTS overclocked model. Asus, Gigabyte and XFX have some nice 8xxx OC cards out atm

very recent games r performing better in driectx 10 cards. so going for a 8xxx card is the best option for now.

For playing today’s modern games like Bioshock and others like that you have to fully load your PC with the most high-end specifications to enjoy the detailed graphics in it without letting the game advance with any pauses and breaks.

I think the 3D graphics card plays an important role in your gaming so it has to be the best in the market as the games keeps on upgrading in their graphical features.
