Old  How to extend my receiver's connection to router?

Does anyone know of any homemade ways I can extend my receiver's ability to pick up the signal from my router any better?

Well there is this place ya know? Called BestBuy and I am sure you could get something there. There is this one way I heard of:

Take foil and wrap your router antenna in it, then put it in the micro wave for 31secounds exactly on medium. Then after that put the antenna back on. Then take the router adapter and wrap that in some plastic wrap and put it int he microwave for 43 seconds. Should give you double the coverage if not more.

Positive I did it to my Linksys. It has something to do with micro waves.

hmm im not convinced this works but i would like someone to try it to clarify go on one of you Americans try it routers are cheaper there

you could try take down all of the walls in your home? on the serious note the signal can depend on the materials your home is made up off.

EDIT: I have also found this while browsing.

However, this range can significantly decrease depending on the environment you're in. Most homes constructed of wood and sheet rock aren't too restricting, but a building made of steel and concrete can cause considerable interference. Other things, like cordless phones and microwaves can also hinder performance. So whereas I might be able to get over 150 feet from my wireless router, you might be able to go only 75 feet from your wireless router.

Hope this helps solve things.
