What is the difference between Software and Hardware?

Please anybody tell me the difference b/w software and hardware.

hardware is something physical, that you put inside of your computer or other electronic goods.

Software is like, applications etc.

and Hardware is required to support these softwares.

Hardware is a physical device that you go out and purchase. Software is code written to execute a task. software can come on CDs, which are hardware.
