1 Month delay after renewal?

Hey all,

Does it take a month after the renewal date has passed before you can buy the domain name?

Example:

Domain expires - 10th June

Are you able to then buy the domain name on the 10th July? Or does it take longer before your able to take it?

To my knowledge it takes longer, and it also makes sense to make it take longer, because it tries to see if the previous owner still wants the domain.
