  Old  Joomla logo

Alright I thought this would be very simple to figure out, but apparently not. I want the effect that they have on the header of the Joomla site (http://www.joomla.com). Its got that glassy appearence, but different. This is probably for anyone that knows about photoshop. Making a white square, and then changing the opacity, but it didnt do much. It just didn't look the same.

Do this, Take the white square and change the opacity to 100 percent and then change the fill to 10% then go to your blending options and go to gradient. Once you have done that, do a white to transparent gradient. You should have close to this effect just mess with the gradients opacity.

Try using the burn and dodge tools, they are for highlighting and darkening, both very good for making 3D looking images.
