Best Shopping Cart
Has anyone had any experiences with shopping cart solutions?
Anyone able to recommend one?

I don't really think there is a 'best' shopping cart solution. Anyone that says "... is the best" is most likely voicing a biased opinion due to using that solution themselves. With that said, numerous shopping carts have different features. Some are very robust and may go well beyond what you need it for, while others are very simple and straight to the point. So I guess it comes down to what your (or your client's) needs are.

http://www.oscommerce.com is probably the most popular but I don't like that a user has to register to buy something, but that may be beneficial to you...

It entirely depends on what you're looking for in the cart. Give us some more (lots more) specifics and maybe we can start to make an educated recommendation.

QuickCart is nice, VirtueMart is good if you need a CMS with it (Joomla), OScommerce is a bloated mess. Wp-eCommerce if you are running WordPress (decent, but not wonderful).
Best thing I've found is making one... depending on what you need they can be pretty simple to build.

OSCommerce is nice but sometimes overkill. I use cubecart ( www.cubecart.com)
Easy to edit template system, and some nice features.

I'd go for OScommerce or ZenCart
