I can guarntee that it was the illegal version, as it says "I started off using Napsters as im sure alot of you did" and it was one of the only ones around

That article talks about copyright infringment on downloading illegal songs (mp3's etc) not once has that been mentioned in this thread. I don't think using p2p software is illegal in itself (like I originally said) sure, downloading copyrighted music is of course breaking the law.....
Napster offer a paid service, that's not illegal is it? Some people do actually use p2p to share documents and other file types, they also use it to share their own music with others, it's very good for bands trying to kick start.

well in that article is also says "Sharing" isnt allowed, because its basically download it for free.... otherwise, why would downloading it be illegal, because u could say youre just sharing it with people.
